Introduction to absence types and absence hour types

How do I apply absence types and absence hour types?

In CleanManager, we distinguish between Absence and Absence hours. Absence hours are calculated on an hourly basis, while absence is totalled in days, e.g. how many holiday days, sick days, etc., an employee has within the payroll period. You can read more about the specific differences in this article.

Absence types are used to structure and provide an overview of employee absences.

These absence types make it easier to analyse the reason for an employee's absence on a given day or period in the calendar or in the basis for wage calculation.

You can use the pre-existing absence types or create your own to organise absence registration.

For each absence type, you can determine if employees are allowed to report/request the absence to their administrator/supervisors. It is up to the administrator or supervisor to approve the absence and create absence hours for planned tasks, if necessary.

You can also configure wage types and rates for the individual absence types and export the absence days.

Absence hour types are used to record the number of hours for which the employee may need to be compensated.

You can use the pre-existing absence hour types or create your own to organise your registration of absence hours.

You can set up wage types and rates for the individual absence hour types. Likewise, you can also choose whether the absence hours should trigger periodic and/or personal supplements, and determine if you need to export the recorded absence hours to a payroll system during payroll export.
